Why was My Appointment Cancelled?

Surge Business Law helps many businesses. Because of our popularity we are often targeted by scammers. For that reason, we have tools and policies that can sometimes be a little aggressive at looking for suspicious requests for service.

If your appointment was cancelled or your contact request was declined, it could be for one of these reasons:

  • We are unable to help you with your project—in this situation, we have provided you details in the email on what to do. Examples of situations where we cannot help:
    • Disputes by consumers against businesses—we understand there are shady businesses out there. We help businesses be legally compliant and we help businesses resolve disputes amongst themselves. We do not take legal action against businesses on behalf of consumers.
    • Non-business-related legal matters—we focus on the needs of businesses and business owners.
    • Matters that involve state law where we are not licensed to practice
    • Projects that we are simply unable to complete with excellence—for example, deadlines that we cannot meet
  • Your request was suspicious
    • We frequently get requests for very large transactions and the client does not ask for a meeting.
    • Often these requests come from non-business emails.
    • Frequently these requests look very legitimate and make references to existing businesses and use addresses that are legitimate on Google Maps
    • These are usually an attempt to defraud the firm or it’s clients of money

If your message was flagged as suspicious but you have a legitimate need, here’s what you should do:

  1. Schedule an appointment for a video conference or in-person meeting (not telephone)
  2. Book an appointment using an email address from the business’s domain (i.e. not gmail, hotmail, yahoo, or the like)
  3. Be prepared to provide cash, certified bank check, or a loan from a bank—our bank will verify this information. We will not accept credit cards, gift cards, crypto currency, money orders, or wire transfers unless the wire transfer is from a lender as part of a bank loan.

We hope you understand. If you feel our policy needs to change, we urge you to book an appointment with our team.
